Prior to his time with the Spartans, Shaw was named NAL Coach of the Year with the San Antonio Gunslingers in 2022, and he led the Gunslingers in 2023 to an 8-0 winning streak, the best start in team history and later led San Antonio to the NAL Playoff Semifinals.
