ROUX WEEKLY - Louisiana Stocks Up on More Veteran Talent

BOSSIER CITY, LA – The Louisiana Rouxgaroux are keeping their foot on the gas in early October with three more player signings this week. The Roux have added three veteran players from across the nation, signing one linebacker and two linemen to join the 2027 roster.

LB | Lovell Spruce – Kent State (6'3", 248 lbs.)
Spruce joins the Rouxgaroux after three seasons in arena football. Most recently, he played linebacker for the Duluth Harbor Monsters (TAL), where he helped lead the team to back-to-back ArenaMania Championship titles. During his most recent season with the team, he recorded 24 tackles, two tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks. Spruce also spent time with the Oregon Thunder (AF1). Internationally, the Rouxgaroux's newest linebacker played in Mexico's Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA) for a team based in Mexico City.

DL | Desmond Railford – Oregon/Tusculum (6'3", 250 lbs.)
Railford enters his fourth season of arena and indoor football, having spent the majority of his professional career in the Indoor Football League (IFL) with the Frisco Fighters, San Diego Strike Force, Tucson Sugar Skulls, and Sioux Falls Storm. Beyond the IFL, Railford had stints with the Corpus Christi Tritons (AF1) and the San Angelo Bandits (CIF). In 2021, he played for the Sioux Falls Storm, recording four tackles and five assists. During the 2024 season with San Diego, he totaled 10 tackles and 10 assists. Railford spent the majority of his collegiate career at Tusculum, where he started three games and recorded nine tackles, 13 assists, and one sack.

OL | Lierick Reed Jr. – North American University (6'3", 330 lbs.)
Reed Jr. spent the 2025 season as a journeyman offensive lineman, spending time with the Odessa Drillers (AIF), Kentucky Barrels (AF1), and Amarillo Warbirds (NAL). During his college career, he played offensive line for North American University (NAIA) in Houston, Texas.
